Mein Jahr in Mannheim war mehr als ein Studium, es war eine Lebenserfahrung.

My name is Hala Fayad, originally from Lebanon, living currently in Mannheim Germany, studying Psychology at my first semester at the Mannheim University. My experience with living in Mannheim and especially as being financially helped by the Ekkerhard Foundation has been only a blessing, not only offering us the accommodation’s scholarship but even more, it gave me the opportunity to live with international flatmates which I get along with so well and it made me open up to a new different way of living while exploring new cultures, traditions and perspectives. The foundation’s employees are so welcoming and friendly to all scholarships holders, we got offered a lot of help and facilities and they were always ready to help us with the difficulties we face as new arrivals in Mannheim. This city offers the right atmosphere for any student, you get to meet students from all over the world, whereas languages borders aren’t a matter considering that everyone speak English and many other languages. The university itself is a perfect historical place, as it’s called in German the Schloss (cassel) this place has many libraries with all the needed conditions for a student to study. The ambiance and the friendly and smiley people of Mannheim give the right to say that coming here was the right decision to take.
