The Ekkehard Foundation was established on the 16th of December 1960 by Karl-Friedrich Meckel and his wife Erna Meckel.
In the light of Karl Friedrich Meckel's experiences in World War II and as a prisoner of war, it was the founders' greatest concern to bring together international and German students in Germany in order to create an open dialogue in terms of an international understanding.
Students of all kinds of nationalities are supposed to find a home and get support from the Ekkehard Foundation.
In this sense, the Ekkehard Foundation, together with the University of Mannheim, continues to provide housing for international students, awards scholarships, assists tutorials in Business Administration, offers consultation-hours and is involved in other projects as well.
In this connection we would like to thank the Kreissparkasse Kaiserslautern and the SARAG GmbH for their longstanding support.
You are cordially invited to read more about the Ekkehard Foundation on our website or on Facebook.
