Hello,

I am Kanij Fatema, I am 32 year old Female. My Nationality is Bangladesh. I lived last 7 years in London, UK. I studied there. I wanted to migrate to Germany for better career and future as my educational background is Computer Science and Engineering. I applied at Mannheim University and I got the place for MS in Business Informatics.

I came to Mannheim, Germany 12^th February 2017. I applied for student dorm but I did not receive any room. I had stayed with a family house, they did not have enough room, and also they have two kids.

So I went to the International Office and speak with Angela about the situation, I also told her It would be helpful for me If I could get an scholarship as I have high blood pressure working and studying at the same time will be stressful for me. She clearly understood my situation and offered me this guesthouse facility for six months.

It was a relief as I could move out of the family house, because I was feeling guilty to share the space with them. Also the rent is affordable so I do not have to think of having any job while I stay here so it’s a good start up in Mannheim.

The facility of the guesthouse is amazing, there is everything here, I just had my cloths with me and I started to live properly in Germany from day one since I moved in here. The room is well furnished; it has everything for a students need. Also the TV is an added advantage as I get to hear some German dialogues while watching it sometimes. The kitchen is well equipped with all kind of good quality equipment’s, pots, pans and utensils. Also we were allowed to use the facilities of L2 e.g. Kitchen, common room and table tennis.

The Location of the Guesthouse is very much convenient, its just 2 min walk from the University. So I got more time in my hand always saved from the journey.

The cleaning service is excellent, so we did not have to worry about it, bedding and cleaning toilet and bathroom. Also I like to add that the Guesthouse members are all so polite and active, they have always replaced the things if it’s damaged, or need to repair.

I have finished my First semester’s examination and now waiting for the results. It was a wonderful experience in the guesthouse for last 5 months. I wish all the success to the team members of the Guesthouse.
